En esta lección estudiaremos el tiempo de futuro en inglés.
SHALL Y WILL
Para formar el tiempo de futuro en inglés se utiliza shall o will con una forma de infinitivo.
Sujeto + shall / will + infinitive + complementos
I shall speak to my students.
Hablaré con mis estudiantes.They will listen to me.
Ellos me escucharán.
En la gramática tradicional la forma shall se ha utilizado con las primeras personas del singular y del plural. En tiempos modernos la mayoría de los hablantes utilizan la forma willpara todas las personas.
I shall prepare for the exam.
Me prepararé para el examen.You will prepare for the exam.
Tú te prepararás para el examen.He/ she/ will prepare for the exam.
Él/ella se prepará para el examen.We will prepare for the exam.
Nosotros nos prepararemos para el examen.They will prepare for the exam.
Ellos se preparán para el examen.
FORMAS CONTRAÍDAS
En inglés es común hacer una contracción con el will/shall y el pronombre sujeto. La fórmula es la siguiente:
Sujeto + ‘+ ll
** ANOTE: se mantiene la misma fórmula para la forma will y shall.
Veamos las formas de futuro contraídas.
I’ll prepare for the exam.
You’ll prepare for the exam.
He’ll / she’ll/ it’ll prepare for the exam.
We’ll prepare for the exam.
They’ll prepare for the exam.
FORMULANDO PREGUNTAS
Para formular una pregunta en el tiempo de futuro la fórmula es la siguiente:
Shall/ will + sujeto + infinitivo + complementos
Shall I go?
¿Iré?Will you attend the meeting?
¿Irás a la reunion?Will he meet you at the bank?
¿Te encontrará en el banco?Shall we dance?
¿Bailaremos?
FORMULANDO LA NEGACIÓN
Para hacer la negación el tiempo futuro se sigue la siguiente fórmula:
Sujeto + shall/will + not + infinitivo + complementos
I shall not go.
No iré.You will not attend the meeting.
No irás a la reunión.He will not meet you at the bank.
No te encontrará en el banco.We shall not dance.
No bailaremos.
NEGACIÓN CON CONTRACCIÓN
Veamos ahora las formas de negación con contracción.

** ANOTE: el futuro puede expresarse en inglés además con el tiempo de presente si la acción está en progreso o es incompleta.
Marta is working this evening. (presente)
También puede expresarse con el uso del presente progresivo.
Marta is going to school tomorrow. (futuro)
